It’s that time of year! That’s right, after patiently waiting 12 months it is again time for the DayNine coast-to-coast holiday parties. For more than a week, DayNine festivities were reported on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn from activities in Pleasanton, Dallas, Chicago and New York.
Wondering which office topped the other in food, fun and some essential DayNine Cares? Let’s just say, each lived up to the DayNine motto of Work Hard, Play Harder!
DayNine Dallas started us off with a great holiday dinner at the Dallas Chop House. DayNine’s Dallas team was joined by DayNine leadership (in town for 2012 planning) and a number of other team members attending DayNine training. With a full house (too many to get in picture), DayNine Dallas set the first bar for fine dining. And not to let it end there, included a quick stop at the City Tavern.
The DayNine Holiday Party Express pulled into New York City and promptly took over the modern and luxurious Frames Bowling Center in Midtown Manhattan. The DayNine New York team were good sports, allowing guests from the Pleasanton and Chicago offices to crash the party, as they filled the night with good drink, food and serious competition on the lanes. While no clear winner announced, we’re not sure anyone really cared by the end of the night. DayNine NYC clearly took the “Play Harder” mandate to heart.
DayNine Chicago combined their holiday spirit and energy into a fun, yet competitive, day of Whirlyball. Amongst a unique blend of bumper cars, lacrosse and basketball, the divided teams put the pedal to the metal and ball through the net as they loudly competed for bragging rights. Rounded out with drinks and dining, the Chicago team may have taken the prize for most unique experience.
The Pleasanton DayNine Team kicked-off its holiday celebrations by participating in a DayNine Cares project at the local Kids Against Hunger facility. The DayNine team packaged almost 1,300 meals to be distributed to malnourished children and their families in developing countries and the United States. After working up an appetite, the team headed to Handles Gastropub for a great lunch, then worked it off carving up the ice at IceLand, and wrapped-up the festivities with drinks at The Dublin Sports Pub. A great day on so many levels and awesome start to the holidays.

Jean Georges Steakhouse at the Aria Las Vegas Resort was the place to be Tuesday night as DayNine Consulting held its Annual Customer Appreciation Dinner. Held in conjunction with the Workday Rising 2011 conference, approximately 50 customers and Workday management joined the DayNine team for a night of networking, entertainment and fine dining. An annual event originating three-years ago, customers continue to find it a highlight in their Workday Rising activities.

Against the backdrop of very unique Las Vegas history, guests were entertained by true crime author and mob historian Denny Griffin, and Dennis Arnoldy, retired FBI agent and former Las Vegas case agent for the Spilotro crime investigations. Together they provided in-depth insight into the history of organized crime in Las Vegas and some behind the scenes stories about Joe Pesci’s role of Tony Spilotro in the well-known mob movie Casino.
The evening provided a valuable opportunity to share the many customer successes achieved throughout the year and a unique environment for customers to meet their peers and share their experiences. “This is an event we look forward to every year,” said Tim Ramos, co-founder and CEO at DayNine Consulting. “It is the one time each year that we can bring together most of our customers and show our appreciation for their partnership, friendship and for allowing us to be a part of their success.”
Workday customer Bloom Energy, a 60 Minutes highlighted new energy manufacturer, and Workday delivery partner DayNine Consulting came together at Workday Rising 2011 to present a unique and exciting case study on Bloom Energy’s use of Workday HCM.
Bloom Energy project leaders Grace Jones, HR director, and Michael Kurtz, HR program manager, shared valuable insight to the creative methods they are utilizing to enable maximum use of the Workday HCM capabilities, and the highly unique hands-on role that Bloom Energy executives have played in the launch, user adoption, and everyday use of its powerful insight and costing capabilities.
In addition, the Bloom presenters and DayNine client partner Colin Anderson discussed critical keys to achieving the 44-day initial go-live while experiencing an aggressive growth of global employee and contingent workforce. Throughout the presentation, Bloom shared the importance of DayNine’s role in planning and enabling the necessary transformation that is now resulting in improved people value and worker experience. Bloom is continuing to expand the use of employee and manager self-service as a crucial component in addressing the significant growth demands.
DayNine Consulting’s customers turned out in force at the 2011 HR Technology Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
